Kent Gall

Camp Director

Kent Gall is the founder and organizer of the Music On The River Band Camp.  Since retiring as a Band Director for 31 years, Mr. Gall now acts as the Music Lesson Coordinator at the Shady Grove YMCA where he oversees over 100 students and 9 teachers that come for music lessons each week.  He also teaches private lessons around central Virginia.

Kent Gall is an active performer in the Richmond area and works as an adjudicator, and recording engineer for local and statewide bands.

Joshua Gall

Musical Director

Joshua Gall is returning for his sixth year as the musical director of Music On The River.  Joshua received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University.

He is in demand as a teacher, consultant, performer, and adjudicator for concert and marching bands around the country, where he has the opportunity to work with at least twenty different programs each year.

A former member and teacher of the ten-time world champions Cadets Drum Corps, Joshua’s music and drill can be seen and heard from some of the finest bands in Virginia, Texas, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.

Joshua is completing his Doctoral work in instrumental Conducting as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Florida.

Sean O’Brien

Boys Counselor Hi! I’m Sean O’Brien. I grew up in Goochland, Virginia and played the flute throughout elementary to high school. I am now currently working as a civilian contractor for the United States Army doing animal research in Aberdeen, Maryland. I’m looking forward to my 16th year at Music on the River!
