At Music on Music on the River we truly understand that children are our future. As parents, our responsibilities include nurturing and guiding them through the best of life’s experiences, while providing them with outstanding opportunities to learn and grow physically, socially and emotionally.
Music on the River is more than just a music camp. Our confidence building environment is designed to help each camper thrive. While prioritizing the safety of each child in our care, we allow our kids to truly be themselves! Our family-built foundation makes everyone feel special. In a camp where everyone knows each other by name, it is impossible to not fit in!
Each camper at Music on the River will feel as if they are a part of something special from day one. Our passion is the driving force behind “our home away from home”. Our campers will return home from their summer at Music on the River as more independent, social, fulfilled versions of themselves.

Giving your child the gift of camp can be one of the best, but hardest, things you ever do! Allowing your child to venture off into an unknown environment, meet new friends, and find out new things about themselves is an incredible gift.
We will work with you from day one to understand your needs and expectations, along with those of your child.
At Music on the River communication is key. Along with posting daily pictures and videos on Facebook, we are always available for a phone call. Our Directors are more than happy to check in with your child and let you know how things are going.
We try to learn about each camper as best as possible before the summer even begins. The more we know the better prepared we can be for their first time away from home!
We promise to do everything possible to ensure that your child has the best possible camp experience. We will help your child become more independent, more mature, learn new skills, and become a better musician.
Can I request a roommate?
All our sleeping areas accommodate at least twelve people, so it should be possible for you and your friend to be housed in the same area.
Do boys and girls stay in separate living quarters?
Boys and girls are housed separately while at camp.
Are places at camp air conditioned?
Yes! Everyplace, except the outdoors.
What do I need to bring to camp?
- Instrument
- Sun screen
- Single sheet(s)
- Pillow
- Blanket
- Towels
- Cosmetics
- Water Bottle (with name on it)
- Swim suit(s)
- Change of clothes
- Comfortable shoes (some activities require close-toed shoes)
- Money for snack purchases (not required)
Do the campers need any money while at camp?
No, however we do have snacks available for purchase throughout the day (everything is $1.00).
Are cell phones and personal electronics allowed at camp?
Cell phones and other electronic devices are allowed but are the responsibility of those who brought them.
What kind of food will be served while at camp?
Typical camp food..salad bar, fruits, American, Italian themed foods.
How does Music On The River handle people with food allergies?
We do our best to try and accommodate people with food allergies. We do have limited refrigerated space to store any food campers bring and we make every effort to have the camp cooks help prepare any special dietary meals.
Are there vegetarian options at camp?
If we know before arriving, we will notify the kitchen staff and ask for vegetarian options.
While at camp, each day provides an opportunity for our student musicians to learn new and valuable musical concepts and re-visit knowledge gained in their home classroom. Many students are often able to play along side our musical staff as well as older students all while being taught by our guest director, Joshua Gall. Each day’s schedule allows for plenty of time for rehearsal, and one of the many activities offered.
8:00-9:00 am: Breakfast
9:00-12:00 pm: Rehearsal
12:00-1:00 pm: Lunch
1:00-3:00 pm: Musical presentation or rehearsal
3:00-5:30 pm: Directed Activity
5:45-6:30 pm: Dinner
7:00-8:30 pm: Rehearsal
8:30-11:00 pm: Evening Activity
How old does my child have to be to attend camp?
Students coming to Music On The River must be in grades 6 and above and have been enrolled in a band class (where available) at their school
Can I visit my child while at camp?
Sure! All we ask that you let the camp director know before you come.
Is insurance provided while at camp?
If an emergency arises where a camper needs medical treatment your insurance policy will be used.
Is there a curfew at night?
All campers are supervised at all times by MOTR staff and there is a “lights out” curfew every night
What if my child doesn’t want to participate in an activity?
The campers have a choice to participate in the afternoon activity or go back to their cabin.
