About Music on the River

Music on the River is a 6-day summer music camp set in the hills of beautiful Goochland, Virginia. Campers are greeted  by stunning scenery,  a friendly atmosphere, and our multi-talented staff, dedicated to inspiring a love for music. Campers can expect to be thrilled by the many outdoor activities that we have to offer, because Music on the River is just as much about having a good time as it is about experiencing music.

Where is camp?

Music on the RIver is held in the beautiful setting, Westview-On-The-James. Located in Goochland County, Westview-On-The-James is a 780-acre United Methodist retreat center with an 18-acre lake, a pool, and excellent camping facilities, all near the James River.

Westview-On-The-James is located conveniently, about 9 miles from Goochland courthouse. Traveling on Route 6, either from the East or West, look for the “Rock Castle-Westview” sign. Turn on Rt. 600 (Right if you’re headed East and left if you’re headed West). Go about 5 miles on Rt. 600, then turn right onto Rt. 643.
